Today I want to show the first couple of steps you need to follow in order to start making money with Google Adsense. There are two things you need in order to start your Adsense business.

1. Blog or website
2. Content

If you don’t have a website let’s go ahead and set up a blog.

Do you know what a blog is?

A blog (short for weblog) is an online journal or diary of an individual’s opinions and latest news that is updated regularly, in chronological order. Many blogs allow visitors to make comments, or “postings” in response to the blogger, or ask questions. You can use a blog to talk pretty much about anything you can think of. I suggest you to talk about a topic that you’re comfortable with so you’re be able to write with ease and to minimize writer’s block.

Let me talk to you about how this whole thing is going to work. You create a blog and start writing content about anything you want, it could be about how to improve your golf swing, how to lose weight or how to grow carrots it doesn’t matter - just choose a topic of your interest and let’s get started. And remember creating a blog is absolutely FREE so even if you decide you didn’t like the first one you made you can create another one or simply have multiple ones like I do.

After you’ve set up the blog you’re going to apply for a Google Adsense account, they usually take a couple of days to get back to you regarding the application process. Once you’re approved you’re going to display Google ads in you blog by simply connecting your Adsense account and your Blogger account. This may sound complicated but I will show you everything you need to do, you’ll be surprised how easy it is. Once you’ve connected both accounts you’ll have Google ads displaying in your site and you’ll make money when somebody clicks on the ads.

Let’s get started. The first thing I want you to do is to go to Blogger.com by clicking here. Another window will open so you can set up your blog and follow the steps at the same time.

When you get to their main page click where it says create your blog now.

On the next page you’re going to create a Google account. Just fill out the form with your information and click on continue.

On the next page you’re going to name your blog. You need to choose a title and url for the blog.

The blog title should be related to the topic you choose, to give you an example - if you were to talk about how to improve your golf swing you could have a title like “Golf Swing Tips” or something along those lines. And again you can always come back and change your blog’s title whenever you want in case you didn’t like it. However the blog address is permanent, once you’ve chosen it you can change it. The blog address should be related to your topic too and I suggest you to have the same title and url.

On the next page you need to choose a template, just pick anyone you like and click on continue. That’s it, you’ve created a blog. Now click where it says “start posting” and create you first post. It is important that your first post is original and not copied from an article directory so you can get approved by Google Adsense. They will visit your site when you submit your Adsense application and they’ll look for some original content. A few paragraphs of information about your topic will do it. After you get approved you can start using other people’s articles but at the beginning use your own content.

Once you’ve gone thru all of these steps let’s go ahead and apply for a Google Adsense account. You need to go to Google.com by clicking here and click where it says “Advertising Programs” at the bottom of the page. You’ll be given with two options:

1. For Advertisers: Google Adwords
2. For Site Owners: Google Adsense

You’re going to choose Google Adsense an click where it says sign up now at the bottom of the page. Submit your information and they’ll contact you within a few days.
