Is Cheap Advertising Really Worth It?
Cheap advertising is one land mine you have to watch out for specially with all of the advertising options available online. This is one mistake a ended up doing when I started my affiliate marketing business a few years ago, I didn’t really have much money to spend so I looked for cheap advertising sources as an alternative to the 50 cent clicks from Google Adwords.
I started setting up campaigns here and there and most of these campaigns I was only paying like 2 cents per click which for me was a great deal compared to Google Adwords. I was driving an insane amount of traffic to my sites and the affiliate programs I was promoting for only a few bucks a day.
So what happened?
I got totally disappointed with myself and I didn’t think affiliate marketing was a real opportunity to make money online. I was frustrated when I saw how quickly my money was going down the drain and no sales where being made, so I decided to give it a rest.
But one day I started doing something I should have done from the very beginning, and that something is called “Tracking”, when you track your campaigns and you analyze what visitors do when they go to your site, you’ll be amazed of what you can discover.
So I decided to start tracking my Google Adwords campaigns against all the other cheap advertising places and I discover why I wasn’t making any money. The traffic I was receiving from these cheap sites sucked, the visitors I was getting did not spend any time on my site, did not sign up to any offers let alone buy the products I was promoting. One of these advertising places even had a redirecting system that wouldn’t let the visitor leave my site, every time the visitors clicked on the back button to leave my site the system would redirect them back to my page charging me for another click.
There was only one source that was actually providing with real visitors and I was actually making sales. That was Google, the one I thought was to expensive. There is something you need to know about Google and it’s that Google will never compromise the quality they deliver their visitors and advertisers for any monetary value. So if you’re trying to save a few cents here and there by advertising with the low-cost options you better think again because you’ll end up paying twice as much for the same results.
I will never ever put a dollar in one of those places regardless of how cheap the advertising is and neither should you.
